Mar-30-04  square dance: <AgentRgent> if you really think ricki lake is more beautiful than angelina jolie then it is you who has been smoking something from a pipe my friend! :p
May-01-04  Clock1913: Anyone who thinks ricki lake is hotter than angelina jolie is one stupid mother @#$%er. In addition anyone who watches ricki lake must be "jerry- springer" trash.
May-07-04  JoeyCJK: http://www.chesscenter.com/twic/eve...

Wow, Kramnik's face sure sums up this year's edition of Linares.

May-11-04  ruylopez900: OK, I think its been enough poking fun and whining about the draws at Linares. Its over people, we've got some exciting chess again. Lets calm down (and start complaining about FIDE and reunifying :P) (sad but true)
May-12-04  square dance: <clock1913> im glad we have at least one other sane male on this site. funny thing is in this whole debate i was made to look wrong!
May-18-04  MoonlitKnight: 60 pages of kibitzing. If Linares 2005 produces nothing but draws, its site will probably surpass the Kibitzer's CafĂ©!
Jun-03-04  Drstrangelove: http://home.comset.net/gmchess/engl... at least it wasn't this bad.
Jun-04-04  midknightblue: Thanks for the entertaining discussion above. I agree with BenjaminLau that there is little or no factual content in many of the above assertations, but they are still entertaining. The only factual information that I would like to share, is that people who immediately resort to calling others "gay" for ridiculous reasons, as square peg did, are extremely unsure of their own masculinity, and attempting to hide their insecurities by calling others gay. So my assertion that square peg is confused and insecure is indisputable fact. My next statement however is conjecture. If a science of beauty is every proven, I believe they will publish information stating that Angelina Jolie is haggard and too skinny.
Jun-04-04  misguidedaggression: <Drstrangelove: at least it wasn't this bad.> Yes, three games that weren't draws isn't a good sign, but being the Petrosian Memorial I guess it is fitting.
Jun-04-04  square dance: <midnightblue> arent you trying to make it sound like im gay? what does that say about your own masculinity? you're right about one thing though, now i am confused!
Jun-04-04  midknightblue: <square peg> I am just stating a fact and requesting that people stop creating their own world of facts as you have done in all your erronous posts. I don't know you or have any negative feelings towards you. I believe benjamin lau has done a reasonably good job trying to help you to understand why your prior inflammatory and outright false posts are misguided. I wish no particular further discourse with you. Lastly, if you continue to go around with unprovoked personal accusations about someone's sexual preference, simply because they told you that they do not find a particular women to be attractive (a skinny haggard woman, no less), then perhaps it would be in the interest of chessgames.com to muzzle you from further posts for some defined period of time.
Jun-04-04  iron maiden: Oh, no, here we go again.
Jun-04-04  square dance: <midknightblue> i'm supposed to take you seriously even though you refer to me as square peg? sorry that my sense of humor upset you, but it seems as though you are doing the same thing now that i was accused of then, i.e. misinterpreting someone's sense of humor. in this case however you seem to be far more critical and, if i dare say, slothropian in your critisisms of me.
Jul-29-04  aw1988: What a horrific tournament. I nearly fell asleep. :(
Jul-29-04  acirce: Too much good chess for you?
Jul-29-04  sneaky pete: <acirce> Chess?? Good chess?! Someone on this site called you one of The Three Stooges some time ago, but you must be one of The Marx Brothers, Chico or Groucho, certainly not Harpo.
Jul-29-04  acirce: Okay? And you must be <insert random silly comment here>. Now where did this lead?
Jul-29-04  sneaky pete: I have no idea, but I remembered which scene led me to associate you with the Marxes. Chico at the racetrack selling a hot tip to Groucho. <Getta you ice cream! Tootsie frootsie ice cream!>
Jul-29-04  sneaky pete: If that's not clear enough, I will rephrase it. The Linares gang is there to make some easy money while keeping their rating intact, safeguarding an invitation to the next million dollar bash. Suggesting they are out to play chess is contributing to a hoax. Of course now and then a player forgets what he promised his wife, tries to play a real game and loses, but that only proves these guys are human too. The ideal Linares tournament will be held in 2005, see the prophetic report of it by GM Ian Rogers in Kingpin # 32, published Spring 2000.
Jul-29-04  acirce: That's the nuttiest thing I've heard since.. no, ever.
Jul-29-04  sneaky pete: I can't imagine it hasn't been remarked, in different words, in the 59 previous pages of kibitzing, which naturally I don't feel inclined to read.
Jul-29-04  aw1988: <Too much good chess for you?> 18 move no effort draws is good chess?
Jul-29-04  acirce: No, but apart from those few early draws easily ignored, too much good chess for you?
Jul-29-04  aw1988: Some were good, yes, but the majority was <snore>
Jul-29-04  Giancarlo: Give the guys a break there entitled to take a break. Mind you 1 real good game of chess is mentally tough, imagine 10+ acirce!
