The Cappelle-la-Grande Open took place 3rd-10th March 2007 with more than 600 players - 93 GMs, 80 IMs and 470 classified players FIDE, coming from 57 countries in the same open. Wang Yue from China won the event with 7/9 on tie-break from Evgenij Miroshnichenko, Vugar Gashimov, David Arutinian, Yuri Drozdovskij and Vasily Yemelin.

After finishing equal second at the 2007 Aeroflot Open with a +4 score, today he won the Cappelle La Grande Open tournament on tie-break, with a +5 score!

Wang Yue is closing in on his attempt to become the first Chinese 2700-rated player.

Bocharov and Dvoirys both lost in the last round, allowing three players who won to pass them with 7/9 score.

Of the three, Wang Yue had the best tie-break and was pronounced the winner.
