The 23rd Rilton Cup main event was not a round-robin but a 194-player 9-round Swiss with 7 GMs and 17 IMs. It was held in Stockholm, Sweden, 28 December 1993 - 5 January 1994. Hansen, Hector and Hillarp Persson shared the victory with 7.5/9, ahead of eight players with 7/9 and six players with 6.5/9.
