Nov-23-16 | | dumbgai: <Mr. V: I don't consider Nino a threat to win, good start or not.> Who knows, it's 2016. |
|
Nov-25-16 | | shivasuri4: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIDE_... Ju Wenjun is in prime position for now. As long as none of Gunina, Kosteniuk and Harika win the tournament (sole or shared), all she needs to do is finish 4th or above to overtake Humpy. If one of the other three win, Wenjun needs to finish 2nd or tie for 2nd -3rd to qualify. |

Nov-25-16 | | paavoh: @Domdaniel: <Why is Nazi Paikadze not playing?> Not on the list of selected players, it seems: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIDE_... |
|
Nov-25-16
 | | Domdaniel: <Nina Myers> As I understand it, Nazi Paikidze's stand against a compulsory hijab - which I find admirable - was directed against an event in Iran. What's up, then, with Khanty-Mansiysk? |
|
Nov-25-16 | | et1: Nothing happened, she had already played in three tournaments before -check here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIDE_... |
|
Nov-25-16
 | | Domdaniel: <et1> What do you mean? Paikidze did not play in any of those events. |
|
Nov-26-16 | | et1: My mistake. Made a confusion between Nazi and Nana... these names baffle me ! Sorry. |

Ju is leading roughly 50 GP points. |
|
Nov-29-16 | | paavoh: Completely opposite approaches, same outcomes... Valentina Gunina 4.5/9 (+4 -4 =1)
Dronavalli Harika 4.5/9 (+1 -1 =7) |

Nov-30-16 | | dumbgai: Congratulations to Ju Wenjun, winning the GP with a round to spare. |

Dec-02-16 | | abhishikt: <Ju vs Hou for world championship?>
Not going to happen, as next championship is knock-out, which Hou is not playing. Ju is going to play against the winner of knock-out for the next to next championship. |
|
Dec-05-16 | | Mr. V: Well Nino definitely did better than I thought, but at least I was right about her not winning |

 | | Tabanus: http://wgp2016.fide.com/2016/11/27/... : <Before the 8th round of the final leg of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix in Khanty-Mansisyk the news came that Almira Skripchenko didn’t feel well and would miss her game against Ju Wenjun. One of Almira’s best friends Natalia Zhukova called a doctor and was staying with her while it was necessary.> |
