Jul-25-06  SNiraj: <Also the game GM Hoi- GM Vaganian is worth looking at> Vaganian lost. Two major upsets on the top two boards!
Jul-25-06  dippel: Why can't we se the games?!
Jul-26-06  SNiraj: Negi's opponent today is Tallaksen ...
Jul-26-06  dippel: Where are the games?
Jul-26-06  SNiraj: <dippel> Check out this link - http://www.ksu.dk/politiken_cup/liv...
Jul-26-06  SNiraj: GM Vadim Malakhatko in sole lead with 5/5 after beating GM Carsten Hoi.
Jul-26-06  Robin01: Negi won on the white side of a Ruy in 14 moves! against a player rated 2300!!
Jul-26-06  Helloween: <Robin01> The player of the Black pieces resigned without due cause. Negi had no advantage in the final position. Negi - Tallaksen
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 Nf6 5.O-O Be7 6.Re1 b5 7.Bb3 d6 8.c3 O-O 9.h3 Nb8 10.d4 Nbd7 11.Nh4!?(main line is 11.Nbd2) Nxe4(11...Nb6 or 11...Re8 are also good) 12.Nf5 Nef6 13.Qf3 e4 14.Qg3 resigns?? The game could have continued interestingly with 14...Nh5 15.Nh6+ Kh8 16.Qe3 f5(an exchange sac- another is 16...gxh6 17.Qxe4 Bg5! giving Black excellent counterplay) 17. Nf7+ Rxf7 18.Bxf7 Nhf6 =.
Jul-26-06  bob000: Negi's game was one of the two for which there were transmission problems. Negi won but not in 13 moves.
Jul-26-06  SNiraj: They have changed Malakhatko's result to a draw so there are 9 players in the lead with 4.5 points each (including Negi) ...
Jul-26-06  Robin01: <Helloween> Looks like you have a good point. 14...g6 might also be playable to keep black in the game. I wonder why he resigned so early?

<bob000> Do you know how many moves it was?

Jul-27-06  dippel: How come Chessgames doesn't have the games?
Jul-27-06  suenteus po 147: <dippel> There are around four tournaments happening simultaneously. <chessgames.com> always does its best to upload games whenever they become available, but it's a lot of work and there usually isn't enough time to keep up, let alone catch up, when they fall behind. The games will uploaded soon, trust me :)
Jul-28-06  AdrianP: David Howell is doing well with 5/6 half a point off the lead (and level with Nigel Short). Also nice to see Jacob Aagaard doing well (5/6).
Jul-28-06  pebble767: There's a lot of good games in this tournament. And look at how they play their openings esp Nigel's, he really shows he wants to win every single game. Too bad he lost one already.
Jul-28-06  dippel: pebble767 says there's a lot of good games in this tournament!. But Chessgames won't let us see them! I wonder why.
Jul-29-06  s4life: < Helloween: <Robin01> The player of the Black pieces resigned without due cause. Negi had no advantage in the final position. Negi - Tallaksen >

Don't say that too loud... or imaginative posters like Gladiator will hijack the thread...

Jul-29-06  pebble767: Nigel will be playing the top scorer today. Too bad for him if he fail to win this tournament.
Jul-29-06  SNiraj: <suenteus po 147> <The games will uploaded soon, trust me :)> Yes, I agree. <Chessgames.com> is doing a great job in the present circumstances (5-6 tournaments simultaneously) ... Hats off to them!!
Jul-30-06  DCP23: N.Short - P.Negi 1-0 today.
Jul-31-06  suenteus po 147: Voila! Hundreds of games uploaded in the blink of an eye!

Thanks, <chessgames.com>!

Jul-31-06  THE pawn: <chessgames> are grandmasters in their own right.
Jul-31-06  brankat: < Voila! Hundreds of games uploaded in the blink of an eye! Thanks, <chessgames.com>!>

Quite admirable indeed. It would aslo be nice to know the Final standings.

Jul-31-06  firebyrd: Final standings at <http://www.ksu.dk/politiken_cup/tur...;
Aug-02-06  Octavia: fancy going to Danmark & having to play an English & a Scotsman! in a comp with hundreds of players
