Originally from Ukraine, she now lives in Belgium.

She won the girls' under-16 World Youth Chess Championship in 1996 for Ukraine, and the women's Belgian Chess Championship in 2011.

She was married to Vadim Malakhatko, also a Ukrainian–Belgian chess grandmaster; they later divorced.

Sep-26-06  Albertan: Anna Zozulia lives in the Ukraine and holds the Woman Grandmaster Title and the Men's International Master Title.She was born in 1980, and is the eleventh highest rated Woman player in the Ukraine. In the 2006 Monarch Assurance open she just defeated GM Mark Hebden in round three of the event.
