Chessgames.com Chess Event Description
European Championship (Women) (2011)

The 12th European Women’s Individual Championship was a 130-player 11-round Swiss held from 7-18 May 2011 in Tbilisi, Georgia, in the Hotel Metechi Sheraton. Rest day: 14 May (after Round 7). It was organized by the Georgian Chess Federation, under the auspices of European Chess Union (ECU). The first 14 players would qualify for the next World Championship tournament. Time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 30 more minutes for the whole game, with 30 seconds added per move from move 1. The order of players that finished with the same number of points was determined by the application of tiebreak rules (not playoff matches). Prize fund: 83,000 euros. First prize 20,000, 2nd prize 15,000, 3rd prize 10,000 euros. Tournament director: Giorgi Giorgadze. Chief arbiter: Nana Alexandria. Play began each day at 3 pm (Round 11 at 11 am). Number of games played: 714.

Viktorija Cmilyte won with 9/11. Stefanova was 2nd with 8.5/11, and Danielian took bronze on tiebreak with 8/11. Since several players had already qualified from the previous European championship, the first 21 players qualified for participation in the Women's World Championship Knockout Tournament (2012).

The game score of M Mikadze vs O Zemlickova, 2011 is 100% identical to Cyfka vs Zhorzholiani, 2011 (also in rd. 10). Hard to say which is which, and hence only 712 games (out of 714).
