Again in the FIDE KO tourney in Libya, he played much above his 2600+ rating, more of a 2750+ rating. He seems a little lop sided, but if he has a good preformance against Kaspy, I'll bet it won't be a blow out like everyone thinks it will be. |

Rather one gets the title by performing sufficiently well (such a performance is called a GM norm) in a given number of events over a given period of time. If I'm not mistaken one needs to earn 3 GM norms within two years to earn the GM title, which can then never be taken away. The international master title is earned in a similar way. |
