Thirteen rounds in 17 days, starting on Friday 16 January. Adorjan was ill and played Rounds 1 & 3 before he had to withdraw during his Round 4 game (vs Browne). His games were annulled and the tournament continued with one bye each round (13 x 6 = 78 + 3 = 81 games). Rest days 19, 22, 26 & 31 January. Sosonko and Timman shared the victory with 8/12.
