  perfidious: On giving the table a once-over, two things stood out as odd indeed.

The first was on seeing the ten players, two of whom I faced during my playing days and all of whom I recall from tournament play across the years, while noting that the field was nine GMs and saying to myself: 'Who in <Hail> is that player at the bottom?'.

It is passing strange to note the second: seems it was only yesterday that I first met Patrick Wolff at the board, at the AIC Open in Springfield, Mass in fall 1978, and here he is playing in a seniors event.
