Introduction
The Counties' Chess Association, in combination with the Lincoln County Chess Association, will hold its annual meeting in the Guild Hall, Boston, during the week commencing Monday, January 19th, 1880, when prizes will be offered in the following classes:
Class II.—Open to Amateurs not strong enough for Class I., by subscription of 10s. 6d. The first prize will be of the value of £5; other prizes according to the number of entries. Local members may play in this Class with any further subscription. (1)
Conclusion
There being only five entries in this class, the prizes were £4 for winner, and £2 for the second player. Tie between Tudor and Jackson, which was played off on Friday morning.—Jackson won. (2)
