Apr-24-09  WhiteRook48: Shulman is losing this?!
Apr-25-09  timhortons: Akobian is a better rapid player.
Apr-25-09  timhortons: If Akobian set a match against naka, this would be more fun.

Shulman is a better player in standard time control, hes not good in rapid play.

Apr-25-09  kb2ct:

Var is a very good player with an excellent sense of humor.

I wish him well.

:0)

Apr-25-09  WhiteRook48: Nakamura should play Akobian, he would be making all sorts of weird underpromotions
Apr-25-09  Dredge Rivers: I'm rapidly losing interest in this match! :)

Apr-26-09  notyetagm: <timhortons: Akobian is a better rapid player.>

Yes, Akobian *blasted* Shulman in the blitz games 6-1(!).

"are you kidding me" ??

Apr-26-09  ILikeFruits: i dont kid...

Apr-26-09  parmetd: 6-2 not 6-1
Apr-29-09  coastalferg: what ever happened to 1.e4? has it been established by computers that it does not give white an opening advantage? even if it has, i will continue to give morphy and fisher their due by playing it in at least half my white games :-)
Apr-30-09  ajile: <WhiteRook48: Nakamura should play Akobian, he would be making all sorts of weird underpromotions>

And don't forget about the trash talking of Nakamura. He's the Phil Hellmuth of speed chess.

:o)

Aug-12-12  Everett: I did not realize that Akobian has used Smyslov's treatment vs the KID for some time now. He has the most E61 games from the White side in the database.

It is an interesting system, that reacts well to typical KID play.
