Introduction
The Counties' Chess Association held a most successful meeting at Malvern during the week commencing Monday, August 7th, under the presidency of Lord Lyttleton. The competition for the prizes was very severe, so many of the strongest English players taking part in the play. (1)

Prizes
The Prizes will not be given in Money, but in Books, Plate, &c., as the successful competitors may choose, subject to the approval of the Executive Committee. (1)
