Dec-21-12  TheFocus: <This may be one of the reasons that no tournament book appeared, and many of the games are apparently lost forever.>

Anthony Gillam has done a book on this tournament. He says he has nearly 80 of the 120 games. I do not believe he has any new games there.

LIFE Master AJ: I'll bet Soltis could do a book on this and make it come to life, he is soooo good at that sort of thing!

MissScarlett: The collection has both Leonhardt-Lowcki games, but there's a third game claiming the title: M Lowcki vs Leonhardt, 1912
Jul-12-16  sneaky pete: Hmmm...

That 3rd Lowcki vs Leonhardt game is a version of
A Aurbach vs Spielmann, 1912

Jan-05-20  cameosis: could someone post the sources for the games? would like to have a look myself.

Dionysius1: I wonder why Aurbach gave up after scoring 5.5/11 in R1? Ah, according to <Gypsy>, he got sick. Arnold Aurbach

louispaulsen88888888: There are some games in The Yearbook of Chess 1913. But one appears to be incorrect. The Yearbook gives a game Reti- Spielmann as won by Reti, but the crosstable shows Spielmann winning both games against Reti. Interestingly, even if Reti actually won this game, Spielmann would still have finished first and Reti still would have finished third. Here is the game: Reti v Spielmann
1.P-K4 P-K4
2.P-KB4 PxP
3.Kt-KB3 P-KKt4
4.B-B4 P-Kt5
5.Castles P-Q4(a)
6.PxP(b) PxKt
7.QxP B-Q3
8.P-Q4 Kt-K2(c)
9.BxP BxB
10.QxB Castles(d)
11.Kt-B3 Kt-Kt3
12.Q-K3 Kt-Kt2(e)
13.QR-K1 Kt-Q2
14.Kt-K4 P-KB4
15.Kt-Kt3 Kt-Kt3(f)
16.Kt-R5ch K-R1
17.Q-R6 R-KKt1(g)
18.P-Q6(h) Q-B1
19.R-K8 Resigns(i)

Notes from Deutsche Schachzeitung ( according to the Yearbook):

(a) Professor Brentano’s move, played by Marco in the Vienna Gambit Tournament, 1904.

(b) In most games BxP is played; it is stronger than the text move. (c) Better is Q-B3, as played by Flamberg against Reti. (d) This shows courage, but P-KB4 comes into consideration. (e) If R-K1, then 13. Q-B2 ( and if then Q-K2, 14. P-Q6). (f) A bad mistake. He must muster his forces on the threatened King’s side. Kt- B3 was necessary, and if 16.KtxP, then BxKt; 17.RxB, Q-Q3 followed by R-K1. (g) If R-B2, B-Kt3; with the threat P-Q6.
(h) Very elegant. If Kt x B, R-K7 wins at once.
(i) If QxR, Kt-B6 follows.
