Grandmaster Tatiana Kosintseva was born April 11, 1986 in Arkhangelsk. Her March 2011 FIDE Rating 2559, number 6 in the world.

Her collection of tournament prizes rival even her sister's metals. At the World Youth Chess Championship, she earned silver medals at the Under-10 (Cala Galdana, 1996) and Under-12 (Cannes, 1997) events. In the Under-10 category of the 1996 European Youth Chess Championship held at Rimavska Sobota she went one better, that time taking home the gold medal. Silver medals were added at the Euro events in Mureck (1998) and Kallithea (2000), at Under-12 and Under-18 level respectively.

World Championship

Tatiana's first big tournament win was the 2004 Russian Women's Chess Championship which was played from 28 June to 11 July in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan in central Russia. The 60th Russian Women's Chess Championship Super Final took place in the Moscow Central House of Chess from November 16 to 27. Tatiana lost her final game against Danielian at the FIDE Women Grand Prix in Jermuk Armenia to finish second (+6-2=3) behind the undefeated winner Nana Dzagnidze (+7-0=4). Tatiana started with 3 points out of 4 games but lost to the winner in round 5. She rebounded with 3 wins in a row over the Chinese contingent, Shen Yang, Xu Yuhua, and Hou Yifan before missimg a win againt Stefanova in Rd. 10. The Grand Prix was held June 23rd-July 6th.
