Former collaborator and disciple of Mark Dvoretsky, both wrote the famous and essential series "Entrenamiento de Elite". In addition to being recognized as chess author, he was also able to defeat eight classic world champions Yusupov's life was transformed in 1994, when he adopted German citizenship, after being stabbed in his home country. After that, his play remained at a high level, but he made no more progress with regard to the Candidates cycle.
