Moskau. Alekhine had einen schönen Erfolg errungen, indem er im letzten, stark besetzten Turnier des Moskauer Schach-Klubs den ersten Preis gewann. Erwähnenswert ist, daß er diesen Erfolg, wie die "Moskauer Deutsche Zeitung" berichtet, ein klein wenig Herrn Pavlov zu verdanken hat, der in einer ausgesprochenen Remisstellung durchaus gewinnen wollte und, wie es zu gehen pflegt, dann verlor. Sonst wäre Lyubimov mit an die erste Stelle gelangt. Die Details ersieht man aus nachstehender Tabelle.

Ferner fand ein Turnier ohne Vorgabe statt, an dem Tselikov, Wohler, Txhernjawski, D.N. Pavlov, Preobrashenski, Kahn, Bakastov, Jablonski, Rubsov, Prochorov, Tschuprov und Pronin teilnahmen.

Moscow. Alekhine had a great success by winning first prize in the Moscow Chess Club's last strong tournament. It is worth mentioning that, as the "Moscow German newspaper" reports, he owes this success a little bit to Mr Pavlov, who wanted to win in an outright draw and then lost, as it usually does. Otherwise Lyubimov would have come first. The details can be seen in the table below.

There was also a tournament without a handicap in which Tselikov, Wohler, Txhernjawski, D.N. Pavlov, Preobrashenski, Kahn, Bakastov, Jablonski, Rubsov, Prochorov, Tschuprov and Pronin took part.

Vladimir Ostrogsky (kibitz #5)

Ostrogski scored +2 =4 -3 but drew Alekhine and beat the runner-up Ljubimow. The report says that Alekhine was lucky as Pawlow over-pressed against him in a drawn endgame and lost, else Ljubimow would shared 1st place with him.
