Vācijā, Frankentale, Rudy Kassels personā atrasts jauns šacha brīnumbērns, šachu viņš sācis spēlēt 10 gadu vecumā un tagad, 12 gadu vecumā, ir jau sasniedzis lielus panākumus. 1937. g. augustā viņš uzvar Frankentales šachkluba zibenturnīrā ar 16 p. no iespējamiem 18. p. septembrī panāk simultānā neizšķirtu meistaru Engelsu; kluba meistariba tiek iedalīts 1. klasē, kurā uzvar iegūstot kluba un pilsētas miestarnosaukumu. Šo panākumu dēļ lielmeistars Bogoljubov ielūdz mazo Rudi Trībergas šachakadēmijā un, kā redzams, sekojošā partijā. rezultāts lielmeistaram ir diezgan nepatīkams.
