May-12-13  eggert13: Tournament first v. world first
May-12-13  Strongest Force: I will have at least a 2nd-row seat.
May-12-13  PhilFeeley: Third time's a charm.
May-12-13  dx9293: Will either player go four the win, or will they stay out of each other's way and make a solid draw?
May-12-13  wordfunph: 5th win for Sergey?

moronovich: Will Sergei play 6.Bg5 ?
May-13-13  PaulLovric: when Carlsen beats the leader he'll be in 7th heaven
May-13-13  twinlark: They've played a lot more than 8 games so far.
May-13-13  PinnedPiece: Does this game start at exactly at 9a.m.? Does their clock start sharply at that time? If not, is there a penalty for late start?
May-13-13  marcwordsmith: <dx> They will both play for a win, you watch.
May-13-13  Jack Kerouac: We have quite a few Car-Jackin's in Detroit....
May-13-13  Rolfo: Magnus won't like to lose this game
May-13-13  Pedro Fernandez: < marcwordsmith: <dx> They will both play for a win, you watch. > So 1.e4? Hmmm I don't know, Karjakin will be happy making a draw (If he can).
May-13-13  Pedro Fernandez: <Rolfo: Magnus won't like to lose this game> Did you mean Karjakin?
May-13-13  Pedro Fernandez: Magnus is eager and greedy.
May-13-13  Strongest Force: Is Carlsen ready to stop a super-nova? How do you stop one? Fate is fate and sometimes It's best just to sit back and enjoy whatever happens.

kingscrusher: If Karjakin wins it would be absolutely sensational - in terms of FIDE rating performance
May-13-13  chessdgc2: I am a Carlsen fan, but there's no doubt about it, if Karjakin pulls another Ace out, his game would be amongst the best I've ever seen or e even heard of since I joined the USCF back in 1982
May-13-13  Rolfo: <<Rolfo: Magnus won't like to lose this game> Did you mean Karjakin?>

Neither of them would like to lose of course. Since Magnus is playing second fiddle so far and now is meating the tournament leader who obviously is on a streak , well anything can happen

May-13-13  SetNoEscapeOn: Tricky situation for Karjakin here, and strange. How many games does one get against Magnus where even a loss leaves you leading the tournament in sole first place?
May-13-13  watwinc: Why, if they're starting with 100 minutes for 40 moves, are the clocks showing times in excess of 1:40?
May-13-13  Marmot PFL: They are both playing quickly as this line is all standard theory.
May-13-13  Robin01: My guess is that they are using a 15 second increment from the beginning.
