Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-30-04  Knight13: Masterpieces of two rooks and two bishops. This makes a good endgame for Horwitz. Good game.
Jul-20-10  jbtigerwolf: What this shows is really good awareness. Black exchanges his ♕ for a ♖ and a ♘, technically 'losing the exchange' 9 pts to 8, from what I've mostly seen... yet he had the awareness that it would be 5 pieces vs 3.

It was already 6 vs 5, through a bit of luck and good play. He was in a jam however, as he would have lost his Knight for 0, if he couldn't get out of it, but even so, it is a good lesson.

Even better, once he exchanged the Knights off, it was 4 vs 2, with the Bishop-pair.

Since I'm on this theme, it was good sight by White to reduce it to 2 vs 1. He had a ghost of a chance this way.

Both examples (2 for 1) show that Rommel was right: "...the day goes to the side that is the first to plaster his opponents with fire..."
