Jul-04-04  get Reti: Symmetrical all the way till move 14.
Sep-14-04  DanielBryant: I've never seen a game in which Black won stay symmetrical so long.
Dec-13-04  Autoreparaturwerkbau: i cant agree more with you, DB.
Jul-27-09  Knight13: <DanielBryant: I've never seen a game in which Black won stay symmetrical so long.> Symmetrical, yes, but White doesn't have any clear weakness to exploit. Need to look at the position, not how many moves black is "copy-cating" white.

Which brings up the question: why didn't you say " I've never seen a game in which White lost saying symmetrical for so long." Because Black had a superior position.

Jan-06-11  Llawdogg: Wow! Szen is up a whole piece over Anderssen just like that. Great ten move combination at the end there.

Steakanator: 20. Ne2 does protect the pawn, although it fails to help the soon-to-be hanging Knight on e5. 20. Nf3 looks to do the same thing, but good luck telling Anderssen to move backwards.

24. Bg4 seems like it's a move late. Staunton praises Anderssen's ability to quickly activate his Rooks elsewhere in the TB, but 24. Rd1 just does nothing to avoid Szén's trap.

Also, who told Anderssen to play 1.d4? You fool!
