Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-19-02  Antonio: i want to play a chess game myself
Jul-25-03  WRWilliams: Dear chessgames webmaster,
i think this game should be classified as Bird's Opening by transposition. Wouldn't you agree?
Aug-18-04  aw1988: Indeed, chessgames.com, this should be a bird.
Jul-29-09  Knight13: <WRWilliams, aw1988> It's Van't Kruijs Opening. I agree, I've never heard of that name either.

Blunder: 23. Qg5?? followed by 24. exf5?? Lol you can be a chess master in mid 1800s if you play bad moves like this I guess. Too many people in 1851 tournament made this type of stupid mistakes, seriously, it convinces me that they aren't all one-in-a-hundred oversights.

After 24.exf5, Williams is ready to pounce on 24....Rxe1 with Qxg7#, but it turns out that the rook doesn't have to go quite that far.

Sep-23-14  Big Pawn: Like a 1300 player; 23. Qg5? and 24.ef??

How could Williams play like this in this game and so good in other games in this tournament? Especially with no clocks!
