Apr-16-05  raydot: All 3 games in the CG DB that start this same way have black playing 4...g6. 5. fxg6. All 3 games end up in a loss for black. Isn't 4....Ke7 a better move?!
Apr-16-05  aw1988: Ke7? You wish to bottle up your pieces?
Apr-20-05  raydot: No one does. But Ke7 seems to take the steam out of any further check moves by not letting the f-pawn get any closer. The Queen can't do it alone!
Aug-28-05  fgh: <aw>: Sorry, but this game is no Einstein.

<raydot>: Stop being foolish, no offense intended. There is no need to make some premature attacks. With calm and solid play white will end up with a clearly better position and a safer king, while the black king will be weak and open to possible attacks. Overall, king's gambit sucks.

Aug-28-05  Anastasia: dont listen to them raydot their just jealous of your massive pickle
Aug-28-05  RookFile: Chigorin was the best player of the open games after the days of Morphy. This is a very entertaining game.
Aug-29-05  aw1988: <fgh> Correct, removing game.
Aug-29-05  Anastasia: did i say pickle? i meant penis
Sep-09-05  raydot: Oh, I'm not upset in the least! Takes more than that to upset me. Reasonable people can agree to disagree...
Sep-10-05  Anastasia: like water off a duck's pickle

Honza Cervenka: This line (2...f5) mentioned already by Greco who continued after 3.exf5 with (probably best) 3...Qh4+ 4.g3 Qe7 5.Qh5+ Kd8 is not much commendable though still playable. The idea of Hruby's continuation here was to play against trapped new Queen on h8 but it simply doesn't work. Maybe 5...Qe7+ 6.Ne2/Be2 Kd8 could have been playable.
