Feb-02-08  fatbob91: is there a forced win or is the position just to difficult for black? because I cant see it

  tpstar: 42. Qc7+ Kh8 43. Bb3 is decisive as Black cannot prevent a Queen check on the eighth rank followed by Qg8#. Note 42. Qc7+ Kg8 43. Bb3+ Kh8 (43 ... Kf8 44. Qf7#) 44. Qd8+ Kg7/Kh7 45. Qg8#, and White's Queen stays on the h2-b8 diagonal to prevent ... Qf4+ where Black might find a perpetual.
Feb-02-08  Calli: 42.Bb3 wins immediately

Bogoljubov's 37...Qe1+?? is a huge blunder at this level of play. Just 37...Bg4 38.Rf1 Rd2 is equal. An example of Bogo becoming too optimistic about his chances.

Feb-02-08  fatbob91: thanks, I don't have a good program and wasn't sure if there was counterplay I missed.
May-05-09  whiteshark: <32...Bg4> looks playable, too. After <33.Nxe5 fxe5> the exchange of ♙h4 vs ♙e5 leads to an equal endgame.
