Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-26-03  fred lennox: This early game shows the traits of mature Anderssen. A preference for semi-closed and closed positions, aggressive heavy piece movements, attack from the flank, streamroller - getting 2 or more adjacent pawns on the enemies side- as a major strategy, positions that favor the knight or not the bishop pair. Unlike Morphy, he is not concerned with playing P-Q4 at the earliest possible moment, if at all. He deepened and broaden his style, Over all, unclassical play and massive attack was his ideal as it was Bogoljubow and Larsen.
