Mar-30-05  Everett: Bronstein smokes Tal, leaving the d5 pawn alone while getting nice squares for his pieces.

  sbevan: Ouch!
Feb-24-14  tranquilsimplicity: For a long time I played this variation of the Scandinavian 2..Nf6 (which is the correct ECO for this game ie. B01), but gave it up owing to White's early moves Bb5+ and Be2 that really ask questions to this variation.

However, this particular game almost led me to return to Scandinavian 2..Nf6 due to the elegance with which Bronstein outplays Tal. Great game. #

  perfidious: <tranquilsimplicity> The ECO code given is correct; it more commonly arises after the order of moves 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.exd5 cxd5 4.c4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6.
Feb-25-14  tranquilsimplicity: Yes Perfidious; I was aware of this, as it is a B14 by transposition. In fact, before I sent the previous post, I had written it with the acknowledgement that the EC0 is correct; because many a time the Scandinavian transposes into a Caro kann. Then I doubted myself, changed the post and asserted my view! (Ha ha he ha!) See,....second thoughts are usually wrong; and devilish! I have to bow to your superior knowledge in these matters. Thanks again for a most astute correction.#
