Jul-11-07  Marmot PFL: Looks more like a draw than a win for black.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <Marmot PFL> You're overlooking something: after 27...Ne5 White's rook is trapped, for if 28.Rh5 g6 29.Rh3 Nd3+ and 30...Nxf2 forks the rooks! It seems to me that he then has nothing better than sac the exchange with, for instance, 28.f4 g6 but that just leaves him down a piece. He'll momentarily have two pawns for it but he can't keep them, and then it's just hopeless.
Dec-22-08  Malfurion: White breaks the cardinal rule of not trading all your pieces off when you're down material..quite doubtful the rooks can gain enough activity given the pawn structures to compensate.

FSR: I saw this game in Robert Byrne's New York Times column 35 years ago. The first "Dzindzi-Indian" I ever saw.
Nov-20-19  islero: Hi guys

<FSR> Could you tell me if the (paper sheets & ink) NYT is currently running a chess column? If this is the case, who is writing it?

FSR: I don't think so. I think Dylan Loeb McClain was their last chess columnist and that they cut his column years ago. Sad.

Didn't want kids, eh?

Nov-22-19  islero: <FSR> Thank you. I cannot say that I am terribly surprised by your answer, unfortunately.
