Chessical: Both Harrwitz and Loewenthal (probably through fatigue) miss a simple win in an instructive K+P endgame:

Harrwitz's <63.Kd4?> loses the opposition, whereas <63.e4> fxe4+ 64.Kxe4 Ke2 65.Ke5 Ke3 is a cast-iron draw.

Loewenthal's <63...Kf2?> looks like a "by-sight" move overlooking that <63...Ke2> breaks the opposition, <64.e4> Kf3 65.exf5 exf5 66.Ke5 Kg4 67.Kd4 Kxf4 68.Kd3 Kf3 and wins.

Dec-21-13  thomastonk: In Harrwitz' "British Chess Review", volume 1, p 332, the game ends drawn already after 53.. ♔d5.

In one of my database, the game ends 63. ♔c3 ♔e2 64. ♔d4 ♔f3 65. ♔d3, and this is another perfect way to draw the game.

So far I've neither a contemporary source for this end nor for that given here.
