at this stage, i wonder why Marshall didn't offer his hand of resignation, game finally ended on move 50.

  profK: Not one of FM's more inspired games. Solid performance from Izzy.
Aug-30-13  jerseybob: I think black's troubles start on the 4th move. 4..Nb6, aiming for some Grunfeld-like small piece activity, looks better to me.

Eh? Are we looking at the same game? To me, this doesn't look remotely 'solid'. I admit that Horowitz plays well - solidly, even - to win the point, but what I find most impressive about this game is not its solidity. White's initial winning attempt is somehow held off by Black, but Horowitz renews the attack and eventually succeeds. It's a tribute to persistence.
