Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-11-02  bishop: Compare the position of the White and Black Rooks after move 21. Morphy ends the game with a few powerful moves.
Dec-11-02  mdorothy: Both the bishops are on big open diagonals, and the rooks are doubled on the e-file. Blacks knights may be heading toward advanced central spots, but they cant get there and get the rooks active before white's develped pieces shred him up.
Dec-27-03  n0rthf4ce: 17...bxc3 doesnt look like a good move =(
Apr-06-04  dag: Strange game--almost like Morphy is pitted against a parody of himself. Several of Black's moves are incomprehensible except as attempts to do something that felt like what Morphy does, the shell without the substance. After 11....Bxf3, Black's distinctly un-Morphian lack of development is starkly obvious. Indeed, it's worse than that--he tried to develop, but Morphy pushed him back down with three pawns, basically. And yes, as <n0rthf4ce> says, the same useless stab at a knight again at 17. Some weird "Equus" thing going on here, dude?
Jan-10-06  morpstau: Hey i dont know about that but what i do know is this is like a mother spanking her baby. I mean schulten gets played worse than a violin and morphy crushes him with the dreaded evans, A Morphy favorite. I wish j.h.s. would not waste morphys time!
Jan-27-06  MorphyMatt: this is the first Morphy game I saw and the first Evans game. I haven't played anything since :-D
Jun-17-07  frank124c: Bishop power! Who says religionists are sissies?!
Mar-13-09  WhiteRook48: who says atheists are smart?
Apr-20-10  Pierulis: ok,ok Paul nice R:e7 and B:f6!! but what going after 21..Ng6 ! (not b5) really i dont know :) black have +3 powns
