Jul-15-06		Ron: Kasparov on the 15th move exchanged queens. I am inclined to think that 15 Qc4 offer White better chances. If after 15 Qc4 black plays Qxb2, then play might go 16. Rfb1 Qxe2 17. Ra2 and Black's queen is trapped. After better black replies to 15 Qc4 white can make moves like b4, Rfb1, etc

Dec-14-07		acirce: Kramnik: <I was rather late to the game, about 10 minutes. I had a driver who didn't know the city. I had left with time to spare, as usual, but I arrived late. Before the game a somewhat unpleasant incident occurred. I'm late, Kasparov has already made his first move, and suddenly the organizers of the match stop me and say, "By a request of Kasparov's camp a security guard will accompany you to the toilet from now on." Of course, this was a psychological ploy. They could have called a couple of hours before the game to let me know. This isn't done when my clock is running. I say, "Let's talk about this later, my clock is running." They say, "We have to decide it now." I agreed, but I demanded the same conditions for Kasparov.> (Bareev/Levitov: "From London to Elista")

Oct-14-16		plang: At Linares earlier in the year Kramnik had played 4 d4 and the game was drawn after interesting complications. 13..Nb6 had been played in a few games in the 60s and 70s; 13..Qb6 was new. Shipov thought that Kasparov missed a chance to get an advantage with 19 Ra3!..Nc7 20 Nc4..e5 21 Rb3..Nb5 22 Nb6..Bf8 23 Rc1. A quiet game after the three titanic clashes in games 2-4.

Oct-14-16		RookFile: I prefer the black pieces in the final position. Evidently Kramnik was happy with the draw, but he seems to have more space in the center and the two bishops.

Sep-28-21		DouglasGomes: I find this very shocking, but apparently White could play on if he wanted, he may be even slightly better??: <SF: +0.46 d46> 25. Ne4 [trying to go for Nb6/b4/b5 play] Bf5 (...Be6 26. b4 Rdd8 27. Nb6 Bf8 28. b5 Be7 29. bxa6 bxa6 30. Rc1 f5 31. Rc6 Bd7 32. Nxd7 Rxf7 Rxd7 33. Nf6+ Bxf6 Rxf6 +0.92d46) 26. b4 Bxe4 26. dxe4 Rdd8 28. Ra2 d3 29. Nb6 Bf8 30. Rxd3 Rxd3 Knight is somewhat better than the bishop and White has little bit more of activity.

Sep-28-21		perfidious: While Kasparov agreed to numerous brevities in his first tilt with Karpov, those were in an unlimited format, as opposed to this set match, in which it appeared Kasparov was hardly trying for advantage with White after his initial experience with the Berlin Wall. (ugh)
