martin moller: I have a Danish chess book : Lettisk Gambit (Latvian gambit)by Borge Andersen and Hartvig Nielsen saying this game was played by H.Ruben and Soren Anton Sorensen in Copenhagen 6 december 1876.
Apr-17-14  thomastonk: <martin moller> I can confirm your information by means of a primary source: "Nordisk Skakitdende", vol. 5, 1877, p 252. Black's name is given as "S.A.S.", the acronym of the editor S.A. Sorensen.
