Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-23-05  Runemaster: Caruso hits the high notes in accepting the Grob pawn and winning quickly. Her only two games in the database are both quick wins against Wall.
Feb-20-08  D.Observer: No chance to recover for Bill Wall on his match against Annette Caruso.
Oct-24-17  newzild: At first glance I thought 18. Ba4 was better than 18. e4, which does nothing to address Black's threat against the Bc6.

However, 18...Qg6+ followed by 18...Ra8 still wins the piece.

Oct-24-17  ColeTrane: Bill granted me a few games online some time ago. we played 5 rapid games all falkbeer counter gambit... he won them all but I held my own....figure he wouldn't have kept playing me if he didn't think the games were good. awesome guy!
Oct-24-17  dumbgai: White breaks almost every rule for the opening: not developing his pieces, not controlling the center, moving the same pieces multiple times, and not castling or otherwise keeping his king safe.

wwall: I grobbed her by the horsie, fell into Annette and got spiked.

6.Qa4+ was no good. I should have just played 6.dxe6 or 6.h3 first, or even 6.Qxb7.

11.Qxa7 is a poison pawn and should not have grabbed (grobbed) it. Time to play 11.Qc2 Bb4+ 12.Nd2 Qxd4 13.Nf3 instead.

13.Bxb4?? loses. Better, but still losing, was 13.Nc3. After 13.Bxb4, stronger for Black was 13...Qxb2! instead of 13...Qxb4.

Domdaniel: "I've got a friend who doesn't know that I'm his friend just yet, His eyes and mouth are widely open but his jaw is firmly set, Like he'd fell off a cliff and hadn't hit the bottom yet, I wish he wouldn't pull these things on me without a net..."

- John Prine.

The pun conflates 'Annette' and 'a net'.

Oct-25-17  kevin86: An early knockout here!
Jul-19-18  morfishine: Hey <ColeTrane> Your comment here is proceless: <...we played 5 rapid games all falkbeer counter gambit... he won them all but I held my own....>

"He won them all, but you held your own???"

Sounds like you got your arse handed to you, but if you equate that to "holding your own" I guess I have my goals/standards set somewhat higher than you

lol
