Nov-07-05  bdspler: Should'nt he be in School?
Nov-07-05  chesswonders: Ndf6 now
Nov-07-05  crafty: 19. ♘d4 ♕xe4+ 20. ♕xe4 ♘xe4 21. ♗b4 ♖fc8 22. c6 =   (eval 0.10; depth 13 ply; 150M nodes)
Nov-07-05  checkpat: QxA3 and if Rf3 then Qb2 to swap queens..
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: Ok, I know I'm a stupid patzer, but why the exchange sac?

offramp: I think he has to take the rook; Magnus's position does not look too good.

offramp: If black takes the rook then the pawn at c6 stays on the board; I think that's the idea.
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: Hmmm maybe, but I crafty's line is quite convincing. Don't throw an exchange away - they're hard to come by ;-)
Nov-07-05  checkpat: <offramp> White wanted to prevent Nd3 hence Rf3; not sure that the pawn will stay after Rfe8 to prevent the fork in e7
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: <checkpat> Fork on e7? It takes two to dance tango and to have a fork.
Nov-07-05  checkpat: <Catfriend> sure ! but it takes nerves of steel not to block the passed pawn c!
Nov-07-05  Toporagno: Could White's Rf3 be there to prevent f3! from Black?

tpstar: <chessgames.com> Thanks for the live broadcast.

Interesting middlegame. I'm impressed Carlsen has such a huge time advantage.

Nov-07-05  aginis: 24...Nxd4 looks like a winner
Nov-07-05  checkpat: Nxe4 is strong now. Instead of Bb4 I expecetd Nd6
Nov-07-05  aginis: 24...Nxe4 thats what i meant.
24.Nd6? Nxe4! 25.Nxe4 Nxf3+ 26.gf g6 27.Nh6+ Kg7 28.Bxf4 f5
Nov-07-05  checkpat: <aginis> if you play 24Nd6 then Nh6+ is impossible
Nov-07-05  aginis: 25.Ne7 looks like the only defense
Nov-07-05  aginis: <checkpat> good point forget all that 24.Nd6 Nxe4! 25.Nxe4 Nxf3+ 26.gf f5

25.Nxe8 Rxe8! 26.Rxf4 Nxd2 27.Kxd2 and black has a strong counter attack or 25.Nxe8 Nxf3+ 26.gf Nxd2 might also work

Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: 26. Bxe7 Rfc8 thats my guess. =)
Nov-07-05  checkpat: Nxf3+ gxf RxQ+ fxQ Qc8 Black is winning
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: <checkpat> But how about 28..Nxf3+ 29.Kf2 ?
Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: Carlsen is in trouble that is what i am sensing. =)
Nov-07-05  crafty: 28. ... ♕c8 29. ♔f1 h6 30. ♖fc3 a6 31. ♕xf4   (eval 2.97; depth 12 ply; 150M nodes)
