Nov-07-05  Gabriel315: I may be a little late in mentioning this but it is always a pleasure watching a game between the instructor versus his pupil. Brings questions to the mind wether or not the boy has truly adaptded beyond what his teacher has shown him. Especially if he manages to win this game.
Nov-07-05  aginis: 28...Qa5 looks safest
Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: nice suggestion <Catfriend> =)
Nov-07-05  aginis: of course amidst all the bustle i missed Qa8#
Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: carlsen's opponent will be queenless.
Nov-07-05  Gabriel315: might i also add that any Kasparov versus Kramnik game serves as an excellent example of this occurence.
Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: but theres a problem carlsen will be checkmated. =)
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: <Gabriel> How about Andersen-Zukertort?
Nov-07-05  checkpat: Lesson No1: passed pawns should be blocked ;=)
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: How about 28..Nxf3+ 29.Kf2 Qb6+ trying to have a perpetual?
Nov-07-05  Gabriel315: I wouldnt doubt you on that. Although i have to admit that i am a novice regarding overall chess play and am unaware of those you had mentioned. I have yet to study the games of some other players since i had decided to primarily study the likes of the more popular players.
Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: carlsen should probably support his rook
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: <Gabriel> Then study those I named:) They're quite well-known, Andersen being considered one of the best players of the 19th centure and Zukertort being one of the two contenders in the first WC match.
Nov-07-05  aginis: 28...Nc6 looked strong anyone with a continuation for white?
Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: and go for Nd3. =)
Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: Rd8 for carlsen
Nov-07-05  aginis: never mind
28...Nc6? 29.c8=Q+! Qxc8 30.Qxe7 Nxe7 31.Rxc8 Nxc8 32.Rd3!!
Nov-07-05  Catfriend: <aginis> Wow, that's a very cute line you show!
Nov-07-05  Gabriel315: =) thank you for mentioning them. You have aided me one step further with your reasonable example of master versus apprentice games.
Nov-07-05  KingG: Carlsen's in big trouble.

28...Nxf3+? 29 Kf2! Qb6+ 30 Kxf3 Qb3+ 31 Kf2 Qb2+ 32 Qc2 Qd4+ 33 Kf1

The only chance is 28...Qc8 29 Kf1 h6, but even then Fritz gives +3.50, so i think Carlsen has lost.

Nov-07-05  SEMENELIN: 29. Kd1 Rd8 30. .. carlsen should have to take the rook.
Nov-07-05  checkpat: Now its white that threatens Rd3! What a turn of tables!
Nov-07-05  Astardis: what about Rd8 now?
Nov-07-05  checkpat: Threat QxN!
Nov-07-05  lentil: this is over
