Dec-03-11  Marmot PFL: I think can win now 27 Qh5 (threaten Nf6 and Qh6) 27...Qe7 28 Rxa7 then a4-a5 etc, and black is too tied up to stop this
Dec-03-11  Strongest Force: Mag loading 4 The Bolo punch? ( Bolo was that big dude in Enter The Dragon)
Dec-03-11  lost in space: 27.Nxf6 gxf6 28.Qh4 Ke7 and Black is not that bad.

Dec-03-11  haydn20: <moronovich> A nice psychological point. I have been tortured this way a few times.

SteinitzLives: Black gets cooked in the time pressure. Bb3, then trade on f6 followed by Qe3 winning with double attack on Ps.
Dec-03-11  Marmot PFL: If black needed e7 for his king (as I think he did) than Re7 is probably losing.
Dec-03-11  Ulhumbrus: The purpose of 28...Re7 may be to push the e pawn after Nxf6. If Howell is in time pressure, he may make any number of mistakes.
Dec-03-11  Marmot PFL: Nxf6 gf Qh5 if Kg7 Qh4+ and Rf3-g3,
Dec-03-11  lost in space: I like 29. Bb3 Qa5 30. Nxf6 gxf6 31. Qe3 with a lot of pressure on both wings.

Dec-03-11  Ulhumbrus: I am off for now. Whatever is going to happen promises to be interesting.
Dec-03-11  Kinghunt: 30... Red7 31. Qc5+ Rd6 played, and after Rc7, Carlsen has a huge advantage.
Dec-03-11  lost in space: ohhh, even nicer! White don't need to protect his Bc4 and play directly Qe3 (without Bb3 ).

30. Qe3 Qxc4? 31.Qxh6+ Kg8 32. Rb4!! and rook lift ot the kingside.

Dec-03-11  Kinghunt: The chessgames feed is delayed. The moves I posted below have already been played (except for Rxc7).
Dec-03-11  haydn20: 3 min. for 10 moves in a tough posi
Dec-03-11  whiteshark: Gotterdammerung is coming soon...
Dec-03-11  lost in space: Now black is busted after the simple 32. Rxc7
Dec-03-11  Kinghunt: <haydn20: 3 min. for 10 moves in a tough posi>

I might even be tempted to say the position is already lost. The only question is how hard he's going to make Carlsen work for it.

Dec-03-11  Kinghunt: Rxc7 Qc2 played. I think Rc8 has to be very tempting for Carlsen.
Dec-03-11  whiteshark: All other games were draws.
Dec-03-11  haydn20: 30...Kg7 looked OK to me. Now Black could lose.
Dec-03-11  SCUBA diver: After Rxa7, tha a pawn can advance.
Dec-03-11  Marmot PFL: Rd6 looks lost after Rc8 and Rf3-d3
Dec-03-11  Clodhopper: After 31. Rc1 what does black do?
Dec-03-11  Marmot PFL: Rc8 Rxc8 Qxd6+ Kg7 Rf3-g3+ also hopeless

SteinitzLives: No big surprises today, except Naka not losing to Kramnik. Too bad Aronian could not win his game, it has some potentially very instructive imbalance lessons.
