Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-29-24  goodevans: 29.Qxf4 Rxf4 30.Rg1 and Black can resign. Even 29.Rg1 should be okay for the win but instead 29.Rh1? loses spectacularly.

Pragg was doing everything right today except manage the clock. Just like yesterday he got himself into time trouble and once again blundered. Will he ever learn?

Feb-29-24  goodevans: In hindsight, maybe Pragg was worried about joining Black's pawns with 29.Qxf4 exf4. With more time I'm sure he'd have worked out that 30.Rdd8 would have given him nothing to worry about but time was something he didn't have.

Honza Cervenka: Well, when I saw the last time this game in the live stream Praggna just had played 26.Rxh7 and I have thought that the game is over and that Rapport is going to resign soon. When I saw the result 0-1, I wondered if it is not a mistake. But it seems to be that even the best chess professionals can blow up and lose an utterly winning game, and so I now feel a bit better after my disasterous performance in the Prague team championship, where I recently lost two won games in a row.

White to move. Last: 31...Rxc2

32.Rhh8?? Be6!!

May-05-24  NoraNora: 14... Nc5? is a serious mistake.

15. Bxc5! dxc5 16. e5 paralized Black's position.

However, E71 requires special King's Indian playing skills.

14... Ng7!? (or even !) was undoubtedly better.

Funny thing happens when one speeds up on the clock: they dont get as good positions.
