Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-19-07  Karpova: White's manoeuvres are very creative:
One expects white to attack on the king's wing but Rubinstein fixes the Queen's side first. After 22.Bc1! the Rb3 is ready to go over to the king's side - after 34.Bg2 both rooks are free to move along their lines.

42.Nf7+ (42...Rxf7 43.Re8+)

plang: The comments on the game at the time were very critical of Black's set-up - the Kings Indian had not yet established itself yet. What was the losing move? Rubinsteins play on both sides of the board was impressive. Grigoriev gives 27..Bxc3 28 Rxc3..Qg7+ 29 Qg2..Qxg2+ 30 Bxg2..Nef6 as a better defense.
