Nov-11-03  Ghengis Pawn II: What a crazy opening!
Nov-11-03  talmax: Basman's the A00 specialist, with both White and Black, and he manages to win a fair number of his games. Not as a result of the opening, mind you, just tactics and strategy!
Aug-19-04  tomh72000: <Not as a result of the opening, mind you> Well, not positionally, but psychologically this kind of opening must certainly have an effect.
Aug-19-04  Deck: I've heard Basman had some published analysis on the offbeat a3, h3 system which he has recently taken up. Does anyone have a link to comments on it?
Sep-01-04  Leviathan: <deck>
Actually, Basman wrote a book about this opening: "The New St Georges"

But if you want my opinion I don't think it's worth buying it :)

Sep-12-04  ughaibu: A little Steinitzian.
Sep-13-04  Leviathan: <little Steinitzian> I undoubtedly have a preference for strategic victories, rather than psychological ones :)
Nov-03-07  ruinme: how does he win now? (sorry)
Nov-03-07  ruinme: i mean i know he pushes the PAWN but what is the sequence of checks he pulls on that rook?and earlier it lookd like he could have trapped it if he had moved his king closer to it when it was in pin yet he didnt what cheapo was i missing.

Domdaniel: Daly's 1...b6 has never really been part of his repertoire: it looks as though he is trying to pass the *pass* back to White. After 2.a3, however, he has little choice but to transpose to a kind of Hippo...

I had a similar game recently, after 1.Nf3 b6 2.g3 ...

  KAIT: Hello!
About this game-perfectly done of tactical point of view, meanwhile,Basman is very stong player with A00. I have a lot of sucssess games as Black, playing unsounded openings, for example 1...a6 \ Basman had wrote a book upon above opening
