White to move.
ANALYSIS [x]
Notes by Blackburne. This somewhat compromises his game. It gives White an opportunity of breaking through on the King’s side.h6 would have offered more resistance. This completely destroys whatever chance Black had with his extra Pawn on the Queen’s side. This may not be his best, but in any case his game is lost.1-0

Chessical: <Knight13> But only for White, as it is then mate on g7
Nov-23-04  Knight13: <Chessical> I know. But there are no ways to stop the mate. 37. Qxd4+?seems to be the mistake.
Dec-17-14  Knight13: <Blackburne: 16... g6 "This somewhat compromises his game. It gives White an opportunity of breaking through on the King's side."> 16... Re8 (to watch e4, e3, and clear f8) and 16... Nb8 (with the intention to trade off Bishops or relocate his it) are both superior.

17... Re8 > 17... a5. Black has little hope on the Queenside without first taking care of the center.

<Blackburne: 32. e4 "This completely destroys whatever chance Black had with his extra Pawn on the Queen's side."> Mr. Blackburne may have been implying that 30... Ne4 is a better alternative.
