Kibitzer's Corner
May-07-11  meppi: this style of play gives me inspiration. early pawn push to attack horse, to play both sides of these kinds of moves are good (think alkehines defence for black) and (this or famous marshall vs ragozin game for white)

it seems that 0-0 was a big mistake allowing the double attack of horse and checkmate threat.

possibly a move like 11. Bd7 and then 0-0 is better , but who am i to criticize masters?

Apr-18-17  hesyrett: 11 Bd3 is a mistake since it allowed 11...Nc5 in reply.  Bogoljubov's 11...O-O is a losing blunder.  How could any GM, much less a world championship pretender (never really a contender, but one of Alekhine's favorite punching bags), miss 12 Qe4 forking mate and the Knight?
Jun-09-18  zanzibar: (After 11.Bd3, Black to move)

Black, as <hesyrett> says, unbelievably plays 11...O-O??

Bogo, himself, awards the move ?? - which makes one wonder if this is the worst move Bogo ever played?

Bogo's annotation only says this:

<A gross oversight. With 11...Nc5 Black had the better game.>

TFS v26 N1-3 (Jan-Mar 1920) G3430 p6

The game is basically over at this point, despite Black playing on 20 more moves.
