Mar-16-06  talisman: 7. Q-h5+ novelty?
Apr-17-10  talisman: IT'S been 4 years so i'm going to say No!
Apr-17-10  Boomie: <talisman: 7. Qh5+>

According to the CG db, this is the first time this was tried. Later black had some success with 7. Qh5+ g6 8. Qh6 Qg5. I guess this was enough to discourage anyone else from trying it.

plang: Game 20 - Tal was up 4 points after his win in Game 19 so the match was essentially over. Still, this was Botvinnik's most successful opening in the match and had he played 13 Qh4..Qf7 14 Bh6..Rh8 15 Nh3 he would have had a significant advantage. After 13 Ne2 simplification via f2 led to a quick draw. After a perfunctory draw in game 21 the match was over.

Tal gives 9 Qxg5..Nxg5 10 h4 with a solid edge. This has never been tried. The 5..Ne4 is rarely played these days. I don't see any games in this database which would give Black confidence in making it popular.
