OhioChessFan: Great game. I'm surprised it's not one of the notables for Browne. If the time control was at 40 moves, it must have been very exciting round about move 38.

wwall: Walter Browne annotated this game in his book, The Stress of Chess. He considered 21.b4! stronger than 21.b3.

He wrote 22.Qf5!? and that it was a strange decision. He said "more logical was 22.Nh5."

He wrote 23.Qxe6?! and said that 23.b4! was better.

Instead of 30.Bf1, he wrote that 30.Be2!? might have been better.

Instead of 37.Rb1, perhaps stronger is 37.Nf5 and 38.Nd6. Browne said he was in mild time pressure to make the 40th move.

He commented 46.Kg3?! "Was I overconfident or naive?"

Instead of 47.Nd4?!, he wrote that more precise was 47.Rxb5.

He considered 48.cxb4? "a colossal error" and that 48.axb4 was better.

He wrote 49.Ne6? and said that 49.Nb5! was better.

He wrote 50.Nc5?! and should have tried 50.Nf4!
