Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-07-05  SEVEN: Chessgames.com
Can crafty help us after 16 . ...Nxg3?
Sep-07-05  crafty: 16...♘xg3 17. exf7+ ♔xf7 18. ♖xe7+ ♔g8 19. hxg3 ♕xg3   (eval -2.35; depth 14 ply; 500M nodes)
Sep-08-05  SEVEN: I am completly comfused.
After 19. .... Qxg3 black looks to have a winning position but here we have a draw on move 24. Also on the game Navara vs J Helbich, 1998 white won (!) on move 27. Where are black mistakes?
Sep-08-05  kamiel: Nothing to be confused about, this is a very well researhed theoretical variation leading to a forced draw. Crafty's evaluation is just wrong.
Sep-08-05  azaris: Helbich's mistake was 23...Bb7?, and the refutation 24.Bg6.
