Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-03-05  CaptainEvans: Surely 20. ...Qe5 is better, because of 21. g3 Nxh2 22. Kxh2 Qh5+ or if 21. f4 Qh5 22. N(4)f3 23. Nxe3 wins material
Mar-03-05  WMD: Did you come across this position by accident?
Mar-03-05  crafty: 20...♕e5 21. f4 ♕h5 22. ♘4f3 ♘xe3 23. ♖xe3 ♖xe3   (eval -3.07; depth 13 ply; 250M nodes)
Apr-22-07  CaptainEvans: <wmd>I was going thru Geller's Kings Indians and spotted this move. I'm a great fan of that Ukrainian genre of attacking tactical players that emerged after WW2 (namely - Geller, Bronstein, Boleslavsky)

Geller can get a healthy plus with 22...Nxf2 23.Rxf2 Rxd4.

Geller got his move order mixed up and played 22...Rxd4 (OOPS!) 23.Nf3.

Pachman discusses this game in his chapter on Psychological Elements in 'Attack and Defence in Modern Chess Tactics.'

Flohr is now winning but Pachman reasons this unexpected turn of events threw him off. He tried to simplify with 27.Qg3 when 27.d5 is winning.
