Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-12-08  M.D. Wilson: Nice finish by Geller.
Apr-22-14  zydeco: Interesting game that sets up Geller's domination in the match.

9....b5, 10....cxd4, and especially 12....Bxf3 all look suspect (instead 9....Nbd7, 10....Nbd7, 12....Qe7 seem like good alternatives).

Smyslov seems to get to a steady position by about move 26.

And then black's position deteriorates very rapidly from move 38 to 43. Maybe 38....Rc1 or .....Rc2 is better.

Geller seems to win entirely by making natural moves. 24.f4! helps set his plan in motion.

The White king moves up the board like the gokart in the corridors of the Overlook Hotel.

Honza Cervenka: 34...exf4 was unnecessary. After immediate 34...Kf7 black was fine.
