Sep-30-04  Elrathia Kingi: Ok, I don't understand the moves. Why not just cap the bishop at 22...Qxf4? I presume it's a trap, but I don't see what it is. Also, why not 20.hxg7? It looks like it makes a queen, regardless. A little help?
Sep-30-04  nikolaas: 22....Qxf4 23.Nxe6 And c7 and g7 are threatened.
I think 20.hxg7 Rg8 21.Rh8 Kf7 doesn't queen
Sep-30-04  deshad: If 22... Qxf4, Nxe6 is lethal. It attacks both the queen and the pawn at g7. If 23... Bxe6 then 24. hxg6 Rxh1 25. Qxe6 Rxd1 26. Ka2 <anything> Black can't stop the promotion and the two white queens will be right next to the black king.
Sep-30-04  drchess9999: what happens to 22... Qxf4 23.Nxe6 Bxe6 24.Qxe6 gxh6?
Sep-30-04  nikolaas: <drchess9999> 24.Rd7 Qg5 25.Re1 Rh7 26.Qc6.
Sep-30-04  Elrathia Kingi: Thanks, it all makes sense now.
Sep-30-04  kevin86: I'll huff and puff and I will blow your house down! Nice attack by white-the sac at f4 is neat!
Sep-30-04  duboy77: chessgames.... you certainly have a fascination with 80's music don't you?
