Mar-03-06  MorphyMatt: Is 7. ♘xf7 really sound?
Apr-27-07  jtd200: I'm not sure black's 8..g5 response was best, but there are a lot of problems for black to deal with... I'll have to anaylze it later!
Jul-27-14  Ke2: typical shirazi... 6... Ne6
Jul-27-14  Ke2: The sac is pretty bad (-1.0 according to houdini). 10... NxN, 11. PxN, Qa5+ is an easy win. And 11... h5 loses the critical g5 square. NxN followed by Nd5 was more tenacious. But I'd probably find neither with Shirazi staring at me. It is funny to see GM scalps from terrible sacs though.
Jul-27-14  Tullius: 13.Qh6+ Kg8 14.Bc4+ and mate next move.
Nov-11-20  Granny O Doul: It wasn't that Shirazi's stare was intimidating; it was that he was so distractingly calm all the time. I'd often go nuts trying to discover what he was so calm about.
Nov-12-20  andrewjsacks: Granny is right. He was incredibly Mr. Emotionless.

perfidious: I sat opposite Shirazi twice and never thought about it much, but his demeanour was indeed impassive. Same as some other hyperaggressive players I have known in chess and poker, a pleasant enough fellow away from the table.
