  Honza Cervenka: 18...exf3 was a mistake. After 18...Bd5 19.c4 exf3 20.cxd5 Qxd5 (see diagram)

the play would be roughly equal.

Nov-19-06  Albertan: Hi Honza. Rybka 2.1c preferred that white play the move 15.axb5 with this continuation possible: 15...axb5 16.Qd3 Rxa1 17.Rxa1 Nc7 18.Nc2 Qd7

Rybka 2.1c suggests the move 18.Qa3 and gives this continuation 18...Bxd5 19.Ne5 Qc7 20.c4 Bb7

Rybka also gave a poor evaluation to the move 18...exf3 and also suggested 18...Bd5 with this continuation given by the program: 19.c4 exf3 20.cxd5 fxg2 21.dxe6 Qd5 22.Ra3 Qxb3 23.Rxb2 Nd5

  Honza Cervenka: <Albertan> Hi. What is Rybka thinking about 20...Qxd5 in your last line? Both 21.Qxf3 Qxf3 22.Bxf3 Rab8 and 21.Qxd5 Nxd5 22.Bxf3 (or 22.Bxg7 Kxg7 23.Bxf3 Rad8 24.Reb1!? Rd6!?) 22...Bxb2 23.Nxb2 Rad8 24.Bxd5 Rxd5 25.Rxa6 Rb8 with quick winning of white's extra Pawn b4 look quite equal.
Nov-19-06  Albertan: Hi Honza Cervenka in regards to your question here is what Rybka gave as a continuation.Afer 20...Qxd5 it suggests your variation of 21.Qxf3 Qxf3 22.Bxf3 Rab8 and gives this continuation to it: 23.Bxf3 Rab8 24.Be5 Rxb4 25.Bd6 a5

If 21.Qxd5 it gives this possible continuation: 21...Nxd5 22.Bxg7 Kxg7 (If 22.Bxf3 Rybka gives the same continuation as you gave: 22...Bxb2 23.Nxb2 Rad8 24.Bxd5 Rxd5 25.Rxa6 Rb8 26.Nc4 Rxb4 with this continuation possible: 27.Nd6 Nc5 28.Ra8+ Kg7 29.Ne8+ Kh6 30.Re7 Rd7 31.Rxd7 Nxd7 32.Ra7 Rd4= with an equal position).

23.Bxf3 Rad8 24.Nc5 Nxb4 25.Rxe6!? fxe6 26.Nxe6+ Kf6 27.Nxf8 Rxf8=

Jan-31-22  jerseybob: After 18...Bxd5 19.c4 Stockfish recommends 19..exf3 but doesn't the desperado 19..Bxc4 work just as well? Since none of these engines recommend it I guess I'm missing something.
