Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-22-04  InspiredByMorphy: I want to find out more about this opening. This is the one and only game in the database where white plays 11.Ndxf3 Just because black won this game doesent mean this opening is no good. In fact the reason white lost this game has little or nothing to do with the opening. Its whites move 20.b6 instead of 20.a4 followed by a5 and a6.
It seems to me white was making progress towards blacks king but got overconfident and made a pawn sac, followed by a bishop sac for nothing. I believe patience could have rewarded White for his position before, I would like to say, his losing move of 20.b6
Jan-22-04  Bitzovich: i wouldn't call that satisfactory, since a4 a5 - a6 takes at least 3 tempi, and black can put up a defence, a piece up Seems like the sac was insufficient
